What format conversions are supported?
Shrink44 supports 9 preset conversion routes — PNG→JPG, JPG→PNG, JPG→WebP, PNG→WebP, WebP→JPG, WebP→PNG, GIF→JPG, BMP→JPG — plus a custom mode where you pick any input and any output format. You can also set a background colour (for transparent PNG→JPG conversion) and optionally resize during conversion.

Are my images and PDFs safe?

Can I compress to or from 4K resolution?
Yes. You can compress or resize to 4K (3840×2160px) or higher in the Compress and Resize tabs. The Canvas API renders at full resolution — there's no upscaling quality loss. High-resolution input files work the same way.
How does PDF compression work?
Shrink44 uses PDF.js to render each PDF page to a canvas, then re-encodes it as compressed JPEG at your chosen quality and DPI. The resulting pages are assembled into a new PDF with jsPDF. This is a rasterization approach — text becomes image pixels — ideal for reducing file size for sharing, not editing.
Can I bulk-compress 1000 images?
Yes! The Bulk tab supports 1000+ images via smart batching of 8 files at a time so your browser stays responsive. Download all results as a ZIP archive when done.
How do I share a compressed image?
Each result card has a Share button. On mobile it triggers native sharing (AirDrop, WhatsApp, etc.). On desktop it opens share options including clipboard copy, WhatsApp Web, Twitter, LinkedIn, and email.
What formats are supported?
Image input: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, AVIF (browser-dependent). Output: JPG, PNG, WebP. PDF input and output supported in the PDF Compress tab. GIF animation frames are not preserved.
